Position Summary:

Monitoring of day-to-day activities of EHS operations, perform periodic inspections to comply with EHS program and EHS regulation requirements. Perform periodic qualifications of ventilation systems, and assist in periodic reviews and implementation of EHS programs.


• Working closely with reporting manager, and managing day-to-day EHS activities.
• Monitoring daily activities of ETP, STP and RO plant operations, maintaining required chemical stock for effluent pretreatment, and disposal to common effluent treatment following the TSPCB on-line manifest system.
• Daily updating of water, effluent, and energy consumption data and wind speed recorder and wind direction monitor.
• Updating and maintaining inventory records for waste management (Hazardous waste, biomedical waste, E-waste and General Waste). Daily verification of Biomedical Waste bag barcoding and waste manifest system .
• Overseeing periodic disposal of various types of wastes (Hazardous waste, biomedical waste, E-waste, and general waste) in coordination with cross-functional departments.
• Periodic inspection of emergency equipment inventory, fire extinguishers, emergency eyewash and safety showers, hazardous waste, SCBAs and Bus Safety.
• Conducting various EHS training for contract staff in Telugu/ Hindi languages.
• Annual respirator qualitative and quantitative fit testing for respirator users.
• Periodic qualification of local exhaust ventilation equipment.
• Periodic updating of headcount list and emergency roles in coordination with cross-functional department.
• Assisting in the preparation, review and implementation of EH&S standard operating procedures, programs and processes.
• Participating in EHS and ERT committee meetings and preparation of meeting minutes.
• Reviewing of facility projects and non-routine maintenance activities and issuing require safe working permits.
• Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports for EHS operations.
• Investigating incidents and near misses.
• File Management: Labeling and storage of EHS related files.


A minimum of a postgraduate degree in science/industrial hygiene or related technical discipline is required. Equivalent experience may be accepted. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in an EHS capacity is required. Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is preferred. Knowledgeable in Indian EHS regulations, effluent and sewage treatment plant operations and experience in conducting job safety analysis is preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluent in English, Hindi and Telegu preferred. Previous experience delivering EHS training on multiple subjects is preferred. Must be team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.

Employees must be able to lift or handle objects greater than 25 pounds to perform certain duties essential to the job function. Employees may be required to perform tasks essential to the job function in areas that require the use of hearing protection devices. Performance of tasks essential to the job function may require the employee to work directly with, handle, or otherwise come into contact with chemicals or pharmaceutical agents. Employees must be able to wear respiratory protection (filtering face piece, 1/2 face, full-face, and/or powered air purifying respirator, supplied air, or self-contained breathing apparatus) for certain tasks essential to the job function. Employees must be able to gain access to elevated work surfaces via vertical ladders or stairs to perform tasks essential to the job function. Employees must be able to maneuver themselves under 30 inch clearances. Employees must be able to accurately detect color and have 20/20 vision (with/without corrective lenses).
