We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Materials Management Lead/Specialist – GMP Required to work in this exciting new area of cellular immunotherapies to assist in managing, and maintaining a GMP/Non-GMP warehouse and inventory management system.  Materials Management Department effectively and efficiently manages and supports manufacturing and quality goals to ensure manufacturing operations are met.  The MM Specialist will report to the Manager of Materials Management.  In this role you will assist Materials Management personnel to support manufacturing operations, product shipping, and component receiving to ensure inventory accuracy and timely supply of materials to manufacturing production rooms to meet demands. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, oversee, and participate in the materials management operations and activities to support production operations team and other internal customers
  • Manage the day-to-day assignments of warehouse job tasks and monitor completion of required activities
  • Ability to lead, coordinate, delegate, and assign departmental duties as needed; point of contact on the floor and in the absence of the area manager
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of non-GMP/GMP materials and equipment following established procedures
  • Dispense and kit GMP materials to support production operations
  • Prepare and deliver raw materials, samples, finished product, etc. to various departments as needed ensuring proper procedure and temperature range are followed
  • Maintain accurate inventory of GMP warehouse materials
  • Performing inventory cycle counts
  • Perform accurate ERP transactions, when applicable
  • Monitor Kanban area to ensure optimum replenishment of materials
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies to warehouse operations team and escalate when appropriate 
  • Assist departmental projects and manages through completion
  • Understands and implements safety procedures and GMP’s
  • Assist with investigation and process related corrective actions
  • Updates area standard operating procedures (SOP’s) as required
  • Provides support to all functional areas in Materials Management
  • Cross-train in all areas of the Materials Management operations
  • Pick, Pack, and Ship finished product, materials, and equipment as required per established policies and procedures
  • Ensure department supplies are inventoried and ordered to avoid stock-out
  • Ability to create and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) relevant to department processes
  • Ensure individual employee training is up to date
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and GMP’s requirements at all times
  • Keep warehouse operation clean and inspection ready at all times
  • Work in a clean room environment as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • High School diploma, relevant trade certification, and some college or vocational training in Materials Management, GMP Warehouse, Distribution, and or at least 7 years experience in a pharmaceutical facility, medical device - REQUIRED
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50 lb. of equipment or supplies
  • In depth knowledge of warehouse operations in a GMP as well as a non-GMP setting
  • Cold chain knowledge and experience in a pharmaceutical or medical setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Experience in a leadership role ie. Team Lead, Sr. Specialist/Technician, or Supervisor
