Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Country Marketing Specialist- Vegetable Seeds, are to:

  • Accountable for the process and delivery of the Country Marketing Plan (medium term M&S country strategy and plan) to the CoSM, taking into account the crop strategies, and monitor progress + devise corrective actions if needed. Most important topics include:
    • Go-to-Market direct/indirect + channel selection
    • Segmentation of customers and partners, approach, value proposition, customer experience
    • Commercial conditions (transactional price building) in line with segmentation and commercial objectives
  • Engage with large influential customers on a level that enables the Vegetable Seeds business to better understand their needs and how to address these needs on a strategic and tactical level. • Use creativity as well as a strong marketing skills base in order to come with unique but sound proposals to develop the relationships and business with these large influential customers
  • By being in and having a strong understanding of the business environment we operate in, to be proactive in identifying potential threats or opportunities to the business.
  • Brand and communication
    • Adapt and fine tune global crop communication strategy coming from Crop Marketing (briefs) and implement/execute them through third party or local BCS-CP organizations.
    • Activate the Nunhems brand for local market, prepare and implement country Marcom plan: Brand promotion, Seeds Fair, Customers meeting, etc.
    • Actively support key field marketing activities, design and plan new variety launch event together with crop marketing specialists
    • Check with legal in the country to make sure all our promotion material and activities are following the local laws and regulations
  • Market & Competitor Intelligence
    • Collect, interpret, and translate country specific market & competitor intel into planning (analysis, follow up); support to and supported by global Market Intelligence department (MCI)
    • Share market & competitor information with MCI unit, take actions if necessary to change our marketing plans
  • Interaction and alignment
    • Maintain interfaces with local CP marketing
    • Frequent communication with crop specialists, CSMs, CoSM, and drive alignment on any of the marketing aspect in the country.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Marketing or related field;
  • At least seven years' of experience in marketing with strategic and tactical activities including price negotiations, customer segmentation, go-to market strategy;
  • Experience influencing and negotiating internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
  • Experience building and maintaining industry and internal relationships;
  • Experience gathering data and analyzing it to determine opportunities and threats;
  • Creating plans that either capitalize or defend the markets;
  • Fluent English;
  • High EQ, socially versatile and persuasive without hierarchy;
  • 30-40% travel. Frequently domestically, and 1-2 times a year abroad mostly to the Netherlands or Spain.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master in Marketing and/or Masters Business Administration
  • Prefer experience with a Business-to-Business or Business to Consumers marketing in multinational company of highly technical product;
  • Prefer Spanish.
