Your tasks and responsibilities

Bayer U.S. LLC's Indianola, PA, office seeks a Staff Software Engineer to develop and integrate our Radimetrics™ Enterprise Platform, an analytics platform for managing and tracking patient radiation and contrast dose as well as protocol management.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Staff Software Engineer, are to:

  • serve as full stack developer (including Java, PostgreSQL, XSLT, Flash [Flex/Spark], Actionscript, and MXML);
  • contribute at senior level to projects and modules including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and support of software;
  • leading design reviews and requirements gathering of projects and modules;
  • providing technical expertise, leadership and advice to engineering peers and software development across projects; and
  • independently communicate and present information at the project level.

  • bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a software development position;
  • professional development and support of a commercial software product;
  • developing software using established software processes and methodologies;
  • experience developing software utilizing medical image and radiology standards and technologies (ex. DICOM,HL7);
  • the following quality processes and guidelines: ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304;
  • architecting, designing, documenting, and implementing commercial software projects;
  • high level programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, etc.; and
  • large datasets in SQL or noSQL databases.
