Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Bayer Crop Science Environmental Science Customer Insights and Performance Manager, are to:

  • Provide deeper understanding of customer needs, behavior and trends that to give Crop Science Environmental Science (ES) a competitive advantage in developing and implementing go-to-market strategies as well as developing trusted advisor status and preferred partner status with key customers and channel partners;
  • Generate actionable customer insights that provide the basis for business & customer strategy and assist in assessment of customer performance across all three ES businesses;
  • Support assigned ES Business (PPM) as Analytics Business Partner;
  • Actively support development and implementation of distribution concepts in line with business segment requirements and design key account overviews and metrics that create efficiency;
  • Identify customer insight priorities;
  • Generate customer insights (e.g., segmentation, customer needs, journeys, buying behavior, etc.) to support value propositions and find opportunities for ad-hoc marketing campaigns, acquisition, retention, cross selling and up selling;
  • Conduct ad-hoc customer surveys, focus groups and other market research as required to inform go-to-market decisions;
  • Transform market research into meaningful insights that can be activated through marketing and sales tactics (e.g. segmentations, campaigns);
  • Understand customers' / partners' needs and behaviors;
  • Capture and anticipate customer and sales trends;
  • Support targeting and prioritization of opportunities within GTM planning process;
  • Support activation of segmentation, insights and analytics with Sales Force and selected Key Accounts coordinating with sales management and KAMs;
  • Identify and lead development of standard customer and sales reports across all three ES business units;
  • Analyze existing external distribution structure and inventory to improve channel health;
  • Monitor/control business performance with distributors compared to Budget/Planning;
  • Establish and track product brand affinity for key growth distributors;
  • Manage all aspects of sales program management and to drive outstanding performance from the team and exceptional efficiency from the program investments;
  • Review and analyze proposed sales programs from the sales organization including running ROI estimates;
  • Develop and implement (in collaboration with business management) measurement tools to track sales force KPI's, Sales incentive programs, and overall field sales performance levels;
  • Work collaboratively with sales team and supply chain to develop and report monthly financial forecast and deliver cumulative account flash report to finance;
  • Identify and apply best practices on Customer Insights development and delivery and Customer/Sales Performance Management across businesses;
  • Business partner for assigned business to understand business needs for assigned business and coordinating the analytical support across business operational and strategic needs;
  • Take a leadership role as a Business Partner (PPM) in reporting and driving results through KPI's on a consistent basis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Economics;
  • Minimum two to five years' of experience in Analysis, Marketing, Sales, Consulting or related field or equivalent experience;
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis and interpretation, and manage data;
  • Experience with general program management;
  • Ability to influence and gain support of internal department needed to support program efforts;
  • Experience working with market research data;
  • Ability to synthesize clear, actionable insights & action plans from various data sets and insights;
  • Ability to construct clear stories with data and present ;
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, decision-making and self-motivating.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration desired.

This role will be based in the greater Raleigh-Durham, NC area. Domestic Relocation assistance is offered for this position.
