Position Summary

Summary: Responsible to manage and lead third party Category Management and sourcing strategies for the External Manufacturing Contract Management Organizations (CMOs) including Combination Products, Medical Devices, Outside Laboratories, Components and other commodities as assigned. Positively leads and impacts the Strategic Procurement collaboration with our Stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Responsible for end to end management of assigned categories, including category leadership, the category strategy development, category sourcing plan execution, and projects to optimize value.
• Proactively drives strategic sourcing activities in collaboration with stakeholders to complete procurement objectives. Strong category management skills which include conducting opportunity analysis, supplier competitive landscape, developing bid lists, evaluate proposals, supplier selection, supplier relationship management (SRM), process optimization and execution of commercial agreements.
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing strategic sourcing tools including automated enterprise systems to execute sourcing opportunities on a global basis when required.
• Collaborates and gains trust with internal stakeholders and suppliers to implement and manage efficient and effective supplier relationships.
• Develops and manages vendor relationships and issue resolution of moderate to high complexity, support project team in resolution of issues utilizing Supplier Management skills.
• Effectively develops and analyzes global sourcing opportunities and converts to actionable Procurement sourcing strategies.
• A focus on the ability to create continuous improvement opportunities by evaluating operational effectiveness and identifying new processes that will make the strategic procurement process more efficient.
• Assists with internal stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities/processes to influence improvement in service, quality, delivery, and cost and optimal payment terms.
• Leads Supplier Management cross-functional teams.
• Leads and facilitates applicable and relevant Category Management Projects.
• Educates end-users on Procurement policies and procedures through daily interactions.
• Acts as a project lead as part of a team on various projects to ensure Procurement goals are met.
• Develops and implements opportunities relevant to identifying and implementing significant cost savings opportunities.
• Develops, leads, coaches, and directs the External Manufacturing IOPS Procurement Team as required.
• Independently authors contractual documents and designs and revises templates as required.
• Member of cross-functional teams- leads meetings as appropriate and influences line functions.
• Effectively leads and manages third party Outside Laboratory Category Management and strategic sourcing.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years relevant experience with an emphasis on Strategic Sourcing & Category Management required.
• Experience supporting at least one of the following areas strongly preferred: CMOs, Combination Products, Medical Devices/Components, Outside Laboratories.
• Proven experience in negotiating, reviewing and managing client requirements; contracts; policies and procedures.
• Experience with Oracle or a similar ERP Solution required.
• Experience with sourcing in the biopharmaceutical industry strongly preferred.
• C.P.M. or C.P.M.S. preferred.
• Expert in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and MS Outlook.
• Experience managing and leading teams.
