Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) Department of Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics seeks a passionate scientist who wants to be a successful drug hunter in the areas of immuno-oncology drug discovery. The selected individual is expected to represent the Department on drug discovery working groups and early clinical development teams in the area of pharmacokinetics (PK)/pharmacodynamics (PD) to improve drug candidate designs, define differentiation strategies, and apply modeling and simulations to facilitate translational PK/PD efforts. The individual is also expected to take mechanistic approaches to better understand drug disposition mechanism and target pharmacology, a foundation that is crucial to our success in predicting human pharmacokinetics and efficacious dose of novel drug candidates and modalities. At BMS, we take pride in applying model-based approaches for the quantitative integration of PK/PD/efficacy/toxicity data in order to broadly impact on drug discovery and development processes. A sound understanding of PK and PD principles and hands-on experience in modeling and simulation are critical to this role. Ultimately, the selected candidate is expected to provide scientifically sound approaches and data integration for effective decision-making and enable advancement of drug candidates into clinical development.

Job Requirements

A Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics or other related discipline, with 0- to 2-year industrial experience, is required. A sound understanding of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles and demonstrated problem-solving skills are essential to this job. Hands-on modeling experience is a requirement. In addition, strong communication skills and ability to work and collaborate in a multi-discipline team setting are required for this function.
