Job Summary

This position will be responsible for leading the Global Project Team for Cyteir.  The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of all aspects of drug development, including US and international government guidelines/regulations and the drug approval process.  You will have deep expertise in some areas of the development process and more of a working familiarity with other areas.  The Senior Director  will be involved in leading the Rad51i program which includes both drug and diagnostic preclinical and clinical development strategies.

Job Responsibilities

Key tasks for the Senior Director - Project Team Leader include:

·       Ensure the comprehensive product strategy and development plan is developed and updated on a regular basis

·       Lead the communication of the product strategy to the Cyteir Executive Committee which will include presenting/defending key development strategies and providing regular program updates

·       Ensure that the tactical plan supports all elements of the product development plan and includes a detailed timeline and budget

·       Manage the execution of these plans by leading global project team meetings and sub team meetings where there is not a functional team lead

·       Participate in the development of key project milestones and timelines and coordinate internal and external efforts to ensure milestones/timelines are achieved

·       Be responsible to managing logistics, team integration, and cross-functional coordination

·       Manage the generation, preparation, organization and archiving of internal and external project study reports

·       Provide alliance management for development and commercialization partnerships.  Where appropriate, provide leadership and coordination for joint steering and joint project teams

·       When problems arise, lead the team, sub team or joint team in problem solving and engage relevant stake holders to ensure collaborative resolution.  When necessary, escalate to the appropriate higher levels within the company and provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members

·       Work effectively with overall functional leaders across the company to ensure that the Project team is accurately capturing the input and perspectives from the key stakeholders

·       Liaise with key scientific and medical investigators as appropriate

·       Lead the budget development and review activities and ensure all activities (upside and down side) are accounted for and assumptions are documented

 

Qualifications

·       Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills

·       Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively and creatively, exhibit flexibility in a changing environment and communicate effectively with a multi-site team

·       Proficient with project tracking tools, e.g. Microsoft Project and Excel and presentation tools, e.g. PowerPoint

Education and Experience

·       Master’s degree in life science

·       At least 8 years of drug development experience

·       Previous experience as a project team leader in the biopharma industry with demonstrated sound leadership in successful management of drug development programs

·       Knowledge of diagnostic development and/or oncology, a plus

·       Demonstrated excellence in the assembly and leadership of multi-functional teams

·       Strong influencing skills, ability to build consensus within multi-functional teams and strong critical thinking and issue resolution skills

·       Understanding of drug manufacturing principles and regulatory practices in major markets

·       Ability to interpret scientific data and understand the implications for clinical and diagnostic drug development

·       Strong communication skills and experience in presenting and developing presentation materials to corporate management and BODs

·       Strong knowledge of project management practices and best business practices for working within a multi-functional pharma environment
