Program Manager, Discovery Research

The selected individual will play an important role in supporting one or more development programs at Homology Medicines, Inc. This individual will work closely with the Development Team to create and implement robust plans and strategies, track progress against key milestones and program goals, and ensure effective communication across all internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background and experience with research and pre-clinical drug development. Experience working with cross-functional teams is required.  Knowledge of AAV biology, other gene therapy approaches, or human genetics is a plus. 

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Manage team operations (planning agendas, scheduling meetings, preparing minutes, and following-up with team members on critical action items)
  • Maintain program-related documentation (including the program Gantt/MS project plan, decision log, and risk register) and ensure appropriate archiving and access to shared information and critical program documents
  • Manage timelines and work with the team to identify/define resource needs
  • Facilitate alignment and cross-functional communication to enable the team to meet the program goals
  • Work with the team to develop options, scenarios, recommendations, and integrated operational plans to achieve program objectives
  • Facilitate internal decision-making processes and prepare regular updates for senior management
  • Implement program management tools and templates to facilitate effective planning and communication

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in life sciences is required. Program or Project Management certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of related experience in the Biotech-Pharma industry, including at least 2-3 years of relevant Program Management experience.
  • Experience working on preclinical drug development programs is required 
  • Strong communication, influence management, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Highly motivated and a team player
  • Ability to manage projects and work with team members in a matrix environment
  • Strong analytical and technology skills, including proficiency in project planning tools, content management tools, and the Microsoft Office Suite
