The objective of the Oncology Forecasting organization is to provide financial support to franchise leadership and senior management for making strategic decisions which impact this rapidly growing therapeutic area. The primary areas of focus for the Oncology Forecasting organization are to provide sales forecasting and financial modeling to enhance resource allocation, assess impact of business development opportunities, assess impact of wholesaler buying patterns, determine material resource requirements for production and establish quotas for incentive planning.

The Sr. Manager, Oncology Forecasting is responsible for coordinating, developing and executing sales forecast/financial modeling which supports operational and strategic execution for the VP Oncology, Franchise Directors, Oncology Controller and Director, US Sales Forecasting. The Sr. Manager must have a strong knowledge of the business environment for each franchise through communication with various stakeholders. The Sr. Manager also provides guidance and oversight to the Hematology and Solid Tumor Forecasting Managers.

The forecasting function requires a strong working knowledge of a number of other technical areas including financial modeling, primary market research and secondary syndicated data sources.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the creation, documentation and presentation of Oncology sales forecasts for LRP, Plan, Update and LBE processes and identify related performance gaps. Presentation audiences to include senior management, Oncology VP, VP US Controller and franchise directors
  • Apply extensive knowledge of business conditions and marketing strategy for each franchise through interactions with VP Oncology, franchise directors, and multiple other cross functional areas including Pricing, Commercial Finance and MA&BI
  • Deliver strong communication with upper management on forecast issues, process and rationale
  • Provide ad hoc analysis on many technical performance-related issues and communicate resolution in clear, concise manner
  • Recruit and maintain high potential, analytical talent and develop a coordinated, productive and highly motivated staff

Basic

· Bachelor's Degree: Finance or Accounting

· 8-10 years overall business experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment

· Ability to utilize multiple data sets (prescriptions, epidemiology, patient flow, etc.) in order to create and explain forecasts

· Ability to utilize statistical and other modeling techniques to create predictive analyses

· Strong knowledge of healthcare environment and pharmaceutical industry

· Ability to analyze complex data sets and develop clear conclusions and recommendations regarding business opportunities and challenges

· Demonstrated ability to network/partner effectively across functional areas and with varying levels of management

· Demonstrated leadership skills to build, motivate and influence teams

· Proven ability to design and manage multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic environment within given timelines

· Excellent problem solving skills, communication and presentation skills

· Experience working with pharmaceutical sales and marketing organizations a plus

· Demonstrated ability to hire, motivate, and retain a high performing team

Preferred:

· Master's Degree: MBA, CPA preferred

· Prior pharmaceutical forecasting or commensurate experience/expertise is desired

· Experience in a manufacturing, pricing or distribution environment beneficial
