Position Summary

Summary
The Federal Advocacy Lead for Public Policy and Stakeholder Relations will be responsible for developing and managing relations and collaboration with federal legislators, regulators, and external stakeholders and organizations that engage in public policy, legislative and regulatory initiatives. The role will require the successful candidate to engage federal legislators, staff, regulators, think tanks, key opinion leaders, trade associations, and professional patient and other advocacy organizations in close collaboration with internal colleagues to support Regeneron's public policy and legislative initiatives and goals.

Responsibilities
o Develop and execute on a strategic plan for outreach and maintenance of relationships with key legislators, regulators, and public policy groups and organizations. Develop professional relationships with think tanks, coalitions, thought leaders, health care organizations, trade associations, and patient and provider groups to enhance understanding of and support for public policies that promote discovery, development and delivery of innovative medicines.
o Maintain dialogue and discussion with key Members, regulators, and external groups regarding key public policy and legislative priorities; collaborate with key groups in support of public policy initiatives and legislation that enhance innovation, affordability, and access to innovative medicines.
o Work with federal and state public policy and government affairs team to identify potential allies and opportunities to partner with coalitions that can help advance Regeneron's public policy objectives. Liaise and partner with other key company colleagues and departments to ensure alignment and advancement of Regeneron's business and patient-focused objectives.
o Advance Regeneron's public policy priorities within the public policy community and partner with third-party groups on their policy efforts.
o Work with relevant functions to develop position papers and policy materials to support common goals.

Requirements
Education and Experience
o Bachelor or higher degree in public policy, law, political science, or related experience.
o 6+ years of experience in or with Congress, policy advocacy organization, or government relations.
o Experience with public policy community, including think tanks, academics, policy advocates, trade associations or other NGOs.

Key Competencies
o High level of energy and passion for public policy, government affairs, patients, innovative science, biotechnology, and public health.
o Knowledge of public policy and patient, provider, and health care organization community.
o Knowledge of health care system and key policies relevant to biopharmaceutical sector.
o Successful working collaboratively and within cross-functional teams.
o Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
