The successful applicant will have experience in standard molecular biology techniques such as cloning, sequencing and protein expression and purification, as well as with tissue culture and basic virology techniques such as virus amplification and plaque assays. Experience with cell-based assays, especially B cell and/or T cell ELISpot assays, would be ideal but not required.
This position also requires experience in maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and work flow.
Exceptional organization skills are required. Working knowledge of computer programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Prism are required.
The candidate must have a BS in a biology related discipline. The ideal candidate should be capable of working both as part of a group and independently and should be able to efficiently communicate scientific data. Importantly, the candidate must be able to work under pressure and have the flexibility to work unconventional hours.
This position might suit an enthusiastic junior research associate with 0-2 years of experience who wants to make a difference in Vaxart’s pipeline by conducting research on preclinical and clinical samples.
