The Formulation Group at Seattle Genetics is seeking a Research Associate to participate in the development of lyophilized and liquid formulations for our antibody and antibody drug conjugate programs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experiments and analyze results leading to the development of robust formulations for antibody and antibody drug conjugate (ADC) drug substances and drug products
  • Execute studies including pre-formulation characterization, liquid and lyophilized formulation development, stability studies, shipping and handling studies, evaluation of material for use in toxicology and clinical settings
  • Process data and present findings to relevant parties
  • Contribute to or author technical reports
  • Assume responsibility for more sophisticated lab equipment as SME

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, biological sciences or a related discipline
  • 0-2 years (MS) or 2+ years (BS) of protein formulation or analytical experience in the academic setting or biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to function as a team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong data and time management skills with attention to details
  • Strong desire to achieve team and individual goals
  • Some hands-on experience with chromatographic (e.g. SEC, RP, CEX) and electrophoretic (e.g. CE-SDS, icIEF) techniques and other analytical methods
  • Some practical experience with protein chemistry, degradation and stabilization mechanisms
  • Experience working in GMP/GLP environment a plus
  • Experience with protein biophysical characterization techniques a plus
