The Marketing Manager - Oncology designs and develops, and implements commercial plans and programs needed to establish market leadership in a competitive landscape. The Marketing Manager - Oncology will lead multiple departments to ensure success in product support and sales execution. Internally, the MM II will foster positive working relationships with the sales force, medical affairs, market research, sales training, regulatory, and other cross franchise marketing teams. Externally, the MM II will work with various agencies and consultants, physicians, and other marketing partners to successfully drive the business. The Marketing Manager - Oncology does not have direct reports but demonstrates the ability to lead without authority, and work collaboratively with the integrated commercial team, IBT, and IOT.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead competitive assessment, scenario-planning, and product differentiation
  • Evaluate positioning, patient type, and source of business
  • Own claims evolution and strategic input into labeling
  • Conduct market research to generate insights to inform brand strategy
  • Own external expert engagement strategy and plan
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external experts where appropriate
  • Lead congress planning cross-functionally
  • Develop strategy and execute advisory board consultancies to garner brand insights
  • Own strategy and implementation of sponsorships
  • Develop tactical plan and lead tactical development aligned to the strategic brand plan
  • Perform budget tracking and milestone management
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate promotional programs and activities to achieve product sales objectives
  • Conduct messaging research and create promotional materials
  • Participate in local market and patient immersions to better understand local market drivers and dynamics and to “get in the shoes” of our customers
  • Manage internal/external networks, consultants, and agency partners
  • Manage budget and project management of external partners
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of marketing plans and recommend changes in strategy or tactics as appropriate
  • Participate and lead cross-functional teams
  • Communicate up, down, and laterally in an effective manner


  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of bio pharmaceutical or other equivalent (relevant) experience required (i.e., device, diagnostics, or CPG)

  • 2-3 years of marketing (brand or product management) experience preferred

  • Strong analytics with excellent overall business acumen

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills


  • Sales experience

  • Market research or analytical experience

  • Oncology product experience, preferably Lung Cancer

  • Product launch experience

  • MBA
