Summary

The Medical Scientist, Pathology Collaborations is responsible for providing strategic scientific and executional support to the Oncology Biomarkers and Diagnostic US Medical Strategy Team while working on an integrated matrix team with Medical, Development, and Commercial colleagues. Accountabilities include planning and execution of key medical initiatives, such as managing strategic collaborations with relevant external stakeholders including but not limited to, diagnostic partners, medical societies, access partners, and regulatory entities. In addition this role is responsible for training of the medical matrix team, competitive intelligence, congress/conference planning and support, content development for medical presentations, and publication support. Finally, this role is responsible for providing medical input on educational and promotional materials as well as regional brand and medical plans. This role will provide support and guidance for development and execution of US Biomarker Medical strategy plans and alignment of strategy with internal stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities

Collaborate on the development and execution of the Biomarker and Diagnostic medical plan to ensure that strategies, objectives and tactics are aligned across internal matrix team.

Establish and maintain communication with key external diagnostic labs, pathology medical societies, and patient advocacy groups to support education, test implementation, and collaborative programs.

Assist in planning and execution of multiple medical activities including medical educational programs, scientific advisory boards, congress coverage, competitive intelligence, real world data generation and publications.

Participate in cross-functional Medical Matrix Team and collaborate with functional areas outside of medical including Marketing, Sales, Legal, Regulatory, and all areas within Research and Development.

Qualifications

MD, PhD, or PharmD with at least 2 years of experience in Pathology, either in academics, research oriented private practice or industry. Oncology diagnostic experienced strongly preferred.

Understanding of the US Healthcare System, the pharmaceutical industry, and clinical and health economic practices in the US.

Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.

Strong leadership, team player and team builder skills.

Highly organized and motivated with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives.

Desirable qualities include:

Previous teaching experience

Understanding of diagnostic reimbursement landscape

Clinical Research or Diagnostic Development experience in the areas of Immunology or Oncology
