Research Associate – Antibody Discovery

Apeximmune is seeking an experienced and talented Research Associate with a strong background in hybridoma technology to join our therapeutic antibody discovery team. As an early hire, you will be integral to helping grow our in-house hybridoma capabilities and play a key role in the discovery, characterization, and development of antibodies for our immuno-oncology therapeutic programs. In addition to maintaining, expanding, and subcloning hybridoma cell lines, you will also help with antibody screening using various binding and immune cell functional assays. Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge and strong hands-on technical expertise in all aspects of hybridoma technology.
Key responsibilities include:
Evaluating serum titers, processing of spleen and lymph nodes, and performing fusions
Collection of hybridoma supernatants to screen and characterize antibodies for binding and functional activity using ELISA, FACS, and various cell-based assays
Maintain, expand, cryopreserve, and subclone hybridoma cell lines
Perform small scale antibody expression and purification
Explore new technologies, techniques, and approaches to improve the antibody discovery workflow process
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field and at least 2+ years of industry experience
Minimum 2+ years of hands-on technical expertise in antibody discovery using hybridoma technology, including hybridoma generation, screening, expansion, subcloning, and antibody purification
Experience in antibody characterization including binding assays with ELISA and FACS, as well as cell-based functional assays
Extensive mammalian cell culture experience
Highly analytical with the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and work independently in a close team environment
Strong communication, organization, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
Experience with high throughput multiparameter flow cytometry
Experience with methods directly measuring bio-molecular interactions (Octet or Biacore platforms)
