Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist, are to:

  • Lead/Direct projects to minimize process variability across the Bayer businesses through the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology (Lean, DMAIC, and DFSS) while reducing cost and streamlining work activities;
  • Lead projects to handle complex issues with division-wide, U.S. implications (e.g., allocations, DSD model, etc.);
  • Lead projects to identify standard solutions that address reliability issues either in process or infrastructure;
  • Conduct root cause analysis concerning reliability, cost, quality and efficiency; perform the necessary data analysis to identify the various improvement opportunities;
  • Develop strategies to meet targets for Order-to-Cash (O2C) business operations KPIs;
  • Lead projects to support other global initiatives to ensure on-going continuous improvement;
  • Liaise between project teams, local process owners, global process owners (when necessary) and technical experts; leverage resources across the Bayer group to address issues and provide support in a cost-effective manner;
  • Support site-wide CI/Lean initiative as required; assist in development of business operation employees to identify and execute improvement projects focused on reliability and efficiency; train O2C employees in process improvement skills and methodology as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Information Technology, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field with a minimum of eight years of experience;
  • Six Sigma Green Belt;
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills;
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills;
  • Ability to return results on projects in a timely and cost- effective manner;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, managerial skills and organizational skills to effectively deal with both internal and external customers;
  • Expertise in negotiation skills as related to influencing others over whom the incumbent has no direct authority;
  • High degree of effectiveness in Change Leadership as many issues require individuals or departments to change behaviors or conduct their work processes differently than they have in the past;
  • Demonstrated training and mentoring experience;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification;
  • Project management certification.
