Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Operations Manager, are to:

  • Provide sole responsibility for management and leadership of Business Consulting operations functions and the effective and efficient delivery of operations tasks focusing on (but not limited to) contracts/quotations, billing and invoicing, staffing, liaising with internal Bayer clients and other platform functions (e.g. HR, Controlling), recruiting and administrative support;
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for the effective and efficient delivery of operations tasks; support other Business Consulting operations-related and contribution activities as needed (e.g. internal audits, offsite planning);
  • Oversee Business Consulting recruiting strategy and approach, aligning with Business Consulting North America team (especially Directors and VP), Bayer HR Recruiting, Business Consulting global and regions, and external parties as needed (e.g. external recruiters, campus recruiters);
  • Represent and deliver Business Consulting North America operations with respect to internal Bayer clients, Bayer platform functions, Business Consulting global, other Business Consulting regions and external parties as needed (e.g. external recruiters), ensuring alignment and efficiency;
  • Support the Business Consulting North America extended leadership team with regard to operational analyses as needed (e.g. utilization), and with Controlling on contracting, WIP management and expenses.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with at least six (6) years of professional experience, especially in global and diverse organizations;
  • Solid knowledge in professional services, preferably in a management consulting, either as a management consultant or in an operations role in a leading management consulting firm;
  • Experience in and promotion to Staffing or Operations Manager (or equivalent) at a leading management consulting practice strongly preferred;
  • Experience (within or outside of Bayer) in billing for services (within the company), working with cost centers, especially in the context of Finance, Accounting, Controlling is beneficial
  • Demonstrated record of managing multiple, sometimes complex requests, working independently and achieving measurable results;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Outstanding analytical, conceptual and implementation skills;
  • Initiative, persuasiveness and a strong team spirit;
  • Proven experience in a highly client-driven environment, coupled with an entrepreneurial attitude to deliver effective, value-add solutions;
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required;
  • Driver's license valid for travel in the U.S.
