Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Process Control System Engineer, are to:

  • Execute DCS and/or PCS technical services and capital project needs as required based on consultation with the site PCS Manager, Project teams and/or plant personnel (as appropriate). Ensuring the DCS and/or PCS scope of work for all assigned projects or installations fulfills the plant requirements;
  • Have responsibility or goal of making certain assigned projects or installations also meet the desired reliability and standardization for the control systems, instrumentation and electrical installations across the site;
  • Lead or drive control system efforts, particularly software/configuration, to ensure, develop and work towards repeatable, reliable and standardized implementation of the multiple DeltaV systems, including Safety Instrumented Systems, and PLCs or stand-alone controls (Allen Bradley & Siemens) across the facility;
  • Lead DCS or PCS project efforts, or being part of a team working towards execution of the DCS or PCS project efforts for several facility projects across multiple sites or areas;
  • Provide project lead or support roles to multiple projects and work as part of team to achieve desired results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related science and a minimum of six (6) years of experience or a MS Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of experience, or PhD and a minimum of two (2) years of experience;
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing skills;
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical theories, engineering codes, standards, and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) such as NFPA, ISA, OSHA, NEC, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Batch control;
  • Advance knowledge or experience in the following areas:
    • Process instrumentation and measurement applications in a manufacturing environment;
    • Read and Markup loop sheets;
    • Read and Markup one-line diagrams;
    • Instrument checkout, startup, and maintenance;
    • Emerson Delta-V, or other similar control system;
    • Continuous Control system software design;
    • Batch control systems software design;
    • Emmerson Delta-V SIS;
    • Rockwell and Siemens PLC's (or similar systems);
    • Variable speed drive applications;
    • Networking proficiency - BAS, DeltaV, Modbus, etc.;
    • Proficient with software systems such as Microsoft Product, Access, SPI, Adobe, SAP, Visual Basic, SQL, Archestra/Wonderware, PI, etc.;
    • Knowledge of chemical processes and equipment
