As a part of the Global Talent function within Corporate HR, the Abbvie People Insights team supports the enterprise with HR data, analysis, and insights, to inform and shape the people-related planning and strategies most important to the business. Over the past 2 years the People Insights team has developed and executed a foundational strategy which has seen us grow the team to 5 members, build a specialized HR data repository & Tableau dashboard, and deliver various impactful analyses of the AbbVie human capital landscape. And our journey is just beginning. We are now seeking a Director to lead the next stage of evolution and impact for this priority HR capability. The right candidate will be an experienced team member who has the knowledge and background to continue and advance the HR analytics vision, collaborate with executive clients, conceptualize analyses and deliverables, and coach the team to top performance. The right candidate will bring a combination of leadership, strategic thinking, innovation, and creative problem solving. And at the same time, have proven expertise in HR and organizational analytics. A strong team orientation and appetite to deliver results at an aggressive pace is a must. Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with senior HR leaders to understand business needs, and to translate those into People Insights projects, analyses and deliverables
  • Bring thought leadership in the area of HR analytics, using your unique perspective on how we can create actionable insights related to top people priorities
  • Conceptualize, design and conduct new research or “discovery” analyses to understand the workforce differently, in order to influence and shape people and HR strategies
  • Present internally and externally at meetings and conferences, translating complex data and analysis into clear, compelling, actionable storylines
  • Collaborate with the team on the continued evolution of the online HR dashboard
  • Take a proactive approach to data management, driving new approaches and ideas for how to organize and optimize data to maximize insights opportunities
  • Use various analysis and visualization software tools to conduct analysis and produce insights and deliverables
  • Organize and manage the high-performing Insights team to ensure ongoing productivity, engagement, and development
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in global HR leadership and/or HR analytics roles
  • Strong familiarity with HR subject matter, processes, and data related to areas such as talent acquisition, talent management, succession planning, assessments, compensation, employee surveys and engagement, workforce planning, labor markets, etc..
  • Proven experience in conceptualizing, designing , and delivering HR data analysis to inform global workforce and talent strategies
  • Strong presence and communication style; ability to engage with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and to confidently influence through collaboration
  • Knowledge of data visualization, HR dashboard, data management, and analysis software tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Visier, OrgVue, Alteryx, SPSS, R, Python, Excel/Access, etc.; experience with Workday HRMS a plus
  • Experience with large-scale employee surveys and analyzing the resulting data
  • Experience leading small teams to highly effective results and ongoing development
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's or PhD in HR Management or I/O Psych or a related field preferred
