Summary:

The Protein Development group is looking for a highly organized person to manage our protein, peptide, and small molecule compounds data base. This person will be responsible for distributions, uploading new lots received, and organizing current lots in stored locations, while updating the LIMS database.

Duties:

The person will manage the inventories of proteins, peptides, and small molecules through the CORE LIMS database. From multiple departments they will receive purified proteins, peptides, and small molecule compounds which will need to be electronically registered. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintenance and organization of the protein and small molecule compounds in physical storage units and distribution of them company-wide via electronic tracking and physical distribution.
  • Ensure the distributions are done in a timely manner to meet expected deadlines for use.
  • Maintain effective written and verbal communication with those requesting proteins, antibodies, and small molecules
  • Lead in efforts in better designing efficient inventory management systems both electronic and physical.


Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of a BS/BA in biochemistry, chemistry, or related field and at least 1 year of industry experience. This person will need a chemistry background for chemical structure and analysis, and a protein background for understanding protein characterization of reagents and antibodies. Additional requirements include:
  • Ability to work productively in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Highly organized and effective at written and verbal communication.
  • Database work or LIMS experience is highly recommended.
  • Lab experience is a plus.
