Position Summary:

Nektar Therapeutics has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Sr. Administrative Assistant who will provide administrative support to the Business Development and Marketing organizations. We are looking for a professional, take charge Assistant to keep business operations organized, on track and moving forward. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, both written and oral, the ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast paced environment, and the ability to work independently with initiative, discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

The successful Sr. Administrative Assistant will ensure that Executive's productivity is enhanced by managing calendars and schedules and assisting with various contracts including confidentiality agreements. Will ensure that meetings are scheduled and prepared for, including the coordination of offsite conferences and events. Will also be responsible for administrative tasks, including catering. This position requires the ability to manage and coordinate complex business travel, both domestic and international by developing itineraries and agendas, booking transportation, hotel, and meeting accommodations. Must have the ability to manage multiple high priority assignments by establishing objectives, determining priorities, managing time, and gaining the cooperation of others to ensure successful completion. The successful Assistant must be flexible and comfortable working in a fast paced environment, must be a problem solver that can adjust plans based on business needs. Must be comfortable working/interfacing with all levels within the organization and fostering and maintaining strong working relationships. This position will also interact with outside business contacts and vendors, and must have a confident and professional demeanor and presence. Work is completed with minimal supervision-assignments must be of the highest quality, and outstanding follow-through is required.

Requirements:

An Associate and/or a Bachelors degree or other relevant professional certification is a plus. Equivalent experience may be accepted. A minimum of 6 years supporting senior level executives required. Experience with handling contracts a plus. Must have demonstrated ability to establish priorities, act proactively, quickly and professionally with a can do attitude. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required. Attention to detail and follow through in completing assignments/projects is a must. Thorough and advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required. Must have outstanding customer service skills with the demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information, which has tactical and strategic importance. Ability to work independently with discretion and confidentiality.
