The Selection and Protein Engineering group in Molecular Discovery Technologies supports programs across all BMS therapeutic areas including Immuno-oncology (I/O), Immunoscience, Cardiovascular, and Fibrosis. Group activities comprise in vitro selection techniques, molecular biology, and protein design.

The successful candidate will help advance the biologics discovery pipeline through molecular biology work. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform molecular biology experiments, including plasmid preparation from E.coli and overlap extension PCR.
  • Effectively utilize automation to enable high-throughput generation of DNA plates for mammalian transfection.
  • Maintain a complete and current Electronic Laboratory Notebook.
  • Present own work within and outside the group.


Qualifications:
  • Candidates should have a B.S. or M.S in Molecular Biology or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience in an industry setting.
  • Experience working with DNA and E.coli is required, such as cloning, PCR, and/or plasmid DNA preparation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills are required along with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with plate-based workflows, automation, or high-throughput minipreps would be an additional advantage.
