The Director is responsible for overseeing a team of Clinical Outsourcing Managers within Regeneron. This team is accountable for sourcing, executing and managing vendor contracts within Global Development in alignment with the company's sourcing strategy. The Director will work closely with key stakeholders across the organization to develop strong relationships and drive consistency in how work is contracted and outsourced.


• As part of the Clinical Outsourcing leadership team, influence the strategic direction of how Regeneron leverages clinical service providers
• Lead a team responsible for all activities associated with the development and execution of contracts for Clinical Services which includes Regulatory and Medical Affairs
• Align the clinical outsourcing management team along program / therapeutic lines to optimize interactions with Clinical, Regulatory and Medical Affairs customers
• Review major contracts for key areas of spend. Expert resource for planning and leading complex negotiations
• Oversee the preparation of study specific proposals where applicable; manage and influence vendor selection, negotiations and benchmarking
• Oversee the implementation of consistent outsourcing approaches across programs where the appropriate level of due diligence is applied to ensure sourcing activities are aligned with the study requirements
• Establish a process where clinical operations teams are oriented on appropriate sourcing methodologies and understand their sponsor obligations when working with clinical service providers
• Liaise with Finance to ensure all clinical sourcing activities comply to Regeneron's financial controls; ensure ongoing engagement with Finance throughout a program's lifecycle to appropriate levels of contract and budgetary oversight
• Lead or participate in supplier governance committees
• Maintain current awareness of the clinical outsourcing market and industry trends
• Identify/define sourcing best practices both within and outside of Regeneron and ensure those best practices are adopted
• Proactively develop and coach Clinical Outsourcing Manager team to drive high levels of performance and growth within the team

SCOPE: All vendor service categories including but not limited to CRO, Central and Specialty Labs, Imaging, ECG and IRT.


Education - Requires BS/BA and MBA or equivalent
Experience – Minimum of 10 years of Procurement and/or Outsourcing experience, minimum of 10 years of Clinical Trial (Phase I – IV) operational/outsourcing experience
