Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Assistant Director Alliance Management, are to:

  • Manage, negotiate, revise and document Bayer Pharmacovigilance Agreements in collaboration with representatives from partner companies. Arranges consent on Pharmacovigilance Agreements for the collaboration between Bayer PV and external partners;
  • Contribute to and review the creation or revision of Bayer contracts (e.g. co-development, license, distribution agreements);
  • Collaborate with PV functions, QPPV Office, Legal Department, Bayer AG and Bayer CC business organization, Country Organizations, and other business units as required in order to gather information from internal functions to develop a strategy for the negotiations of the Pharmacovigilance agreements; 
  • Include pharmacovigilance-relevant contracts and Pharmacovigilance Agreements into the PV contract repository;
  • Organize and conduct periodic review of adequacy of existing Pharmacovigilance Agreements and initiates revision where appropriate;
  • Support the QPPV Office with information about Pharmacovigilance Agreements for inclusion into the PV System Master file;
  • Manage relationship with external partners to ensure legal and regulatory compliance;
  • Drive the implementation of obligations deriving from Pharmacovigilance Agreements throughout PV functions;
  • Collaborate with Bayer audit and inspection functions to ensure comprehensive compliance with PV Agreements;
  • Provide relevant information concerning Pharmacovigilance Agreements during internal audits and inspections.

Required Qualifications:


  • Doctoral-level degree with 4-year experience (2 years relevant and 2 years of pharmacovigilance experience preferred) or Master's degree in a related discipline with 6-year experience (4 years relevant and 2 years of pharmacovigilance experience preferred), or Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 8-year experience (6 years of relevant experience and 2 years of pharmacovigilance experience preferred);
  • In-depth knowledge of global pharmaceutical legislation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively across the organization - strong ability to build relationships both internally and externally;
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills, major strength in influencing;
  • Very good English language skills including use of English language in legal documents;
  • Personal characteristics, competencies:
    • Listener, Leadership, Strategic and Cross-Functional thinking,
      Relationships with external partners, Analytical Skills, Decision-making.
