Based in San Diego, CA, this role is as a key member of the Medical Affairs team and is responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to help communicate Arena’s medical and scientific information for each product to the external medical community and collecting impactful insights to enhance our strategic objectives.

What you’ll dive into

  • Support the overall development and execution of a strategic medical affairs plan, including management of department resources and budget
  • Create and execute annual publication plans for each product, incorporating scientific platforms, abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts and literature surveillance/library management
  • Assist with the global congress plan, incorporating Arena attendee logistics, engagement plans, scientific presentations, booth content and coverage, scientific/competitive intelligence and congress summaries
  • Create medical resources to support internal and external needs (e.g. field-based resources such as FAQs, slide decks, standard response letters); including generation of training plans to ensure teams are adequately trained and are knowledgeable in assigned therapeutic areas
  • Participate in the organization of advisory boards meetings
  • Coordinate the grant/medical education review and execution process
  • Facilitate the creation and training of relevant procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance; support the medical/legal/regulatory review of medical and commercial materials, as needed

 What we expect

  • PhD, PharmD or MD/DO, preferred, or relevant experience and advance degree
  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience in ad boards and medical communications and publication planning
  • Relevant therapeutic area knowledge – ideally cardiovascular (particularly Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension), autoimmune diseases and pain, highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects from conception to execution
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate broad medical andscientific data and information in a clear, cohesive manner across functions and levels
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Able to travel both within the US and internationally, up to ~ 25% of time
