We are looking for a research associate for our VelociGene labs for a 6 month engagement. This person will be assisting in analyzing various mouse models of human disease. In addition, this person will learn and apply cutting edge BAC recombineering skills in construction of VelociGene targeting vectors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Basic laboratory mouse work (such as necropsy, tissue harvest, histology, and live imaging)
  • Conduct basic molecular biology techniques (such as plasmid cloning and PCR)
  • Aid in creating targeting vector constructs
  • Work with bacterial cultures and BAC DNA preps
  • Keeps records up to date and show good organization of their daily tasks

This position requires a Minimum of Bachelor or Master's Degree (M.A) or equivalent; 2 or more years related experience and/or training in:
• Experience in basic laboratory mouse work
• Basic molecular biology work including DNA cloning, nucleic acid purification and analyses protocols such as PCR
• Basic knowledge of DNA analysis software
• Skills in basic laboratory mouse work, including necropsy and tissue harvest.
• Skills in general tissue histology preferred.
• Skills in in vivo imaging preferred.

This position will require a physical before starting.
Level will be commensurate with experience.
