HUYA Bioscience International is a development-stage biopharmaceutical company bringing innovations from China to global markets in multiple therapeutic areas. The Company’s lead cardiovascular program, HBI-3000, recently started a phase 1 in Europe and HUYA’s partner in China has run multiple phase 2 trials there. HUYA’s lead compound in oncology, HBI-8000, is in late stage clinical development in Japan and Korea for the treatment of hematological malignancies. In the United States, HBI-8000 is being developed in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors in solid tumors. Job Summary

HUYA is seeking a self-motivated, goal-oriented individual to take an active role as Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager will report to the President. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, assist product sales forecasts in order to formulate and implement corporate strategy to optimize and expand the commercial life of each product or potential investment. Assist the development and implementation of a detailed portfolio analysis, including scenarios surrounding pipeline products or in-licensing candidates, while considering the potential impact of implementing various lifecycle, growth and investment strategies.

This is an office based position that works in a cross-functional and dynamic environment.  Clear, timely, professional, and effective communication with all HUYA functional areas and global office sites is essential.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist product sales forecasts
  • Assist the development and implementation of a detailed portfolio analysis
  • Work with various internal groups (i.e., Clinical Development, IP, Regulatory, etc.) to drive the development of specific lifecycle plans for pipeline and candidate products         
  • Proactively research, evaluate and follow relevant changes in business landscapes that could lead to expansion into new geographies, markets, therapeutic areas and related businesses for the Company
  • Assist competitive analysis to identify and describe opportunities, evaluate viable entry and investment approaches
  • Schedule business development meetings and maintain calendars as required for the Company’s business development activities
  • Provide assistance in preparing meeting agendas and investor documents
  • Maintain, organize, and administer confidential documents, electronic files, and other sensitive information
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the President and Sr. VP of Business Development

  • Proven success in leading complex projects and bringing them to conclusion
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and project management skills required
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or other email/calendaring programs
  • Precise accuracy with work, detail oriented and highly organized
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Knows how to exercise good independent judgment and has reasoning skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with executives, board of directors, scientists, and all levels within the organization.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in Biology, Chemistry or Pharmacy
  • MBA strongly preferred
  • 2+ years Strategic Planning/Business development experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical sector and/or on the investment banking experience with a heavy Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry focus
  • Strong understanding of the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry including commercial and scientific issues involved in making strategic decisions in the industry
