We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate with protein chemistry background and immune assay development experience to join the antibody HTS team in Therapeutic Proteins Department. The Therapeutic Proteins Department immunizes and performs screening of our VelocImmune Antibodies in order to find an antibodies against specific targets for potential therapeutic drug candidates.

This research associate will develop, optimize and execute multiplexing immunoassays using Luminex or other high through-put technologies to identify functional antibodies against target antigens. He/she will work closely with antibody isolation teams for screening logistics and keep the team informed timely of experimental results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Design, develop and optimize high-throughput multiplexing antibody screenings, antibody characterization, and epitope mapping using Luminex technology or other immunoassay platforms.
• Execute assays as part of antibody high-throughput screenings.
• Organize and manage concurring antibody screenings
• Develop assays for upcoming new targets.
• Process large data sets and interpret experimental results
• Communicate and present the experimental results to the screening team and interdepartmental project teams.
• Keep accurate records of experimental procedures and results.
• And keep current of new development of multiplexing screening technologies.

This position requires a minimum of a BS and/or Master degree in the field biochemistry, bioengineering, immunology or related field and of 2+ years of hands-on bench research/development . This experience should include immunoassay development (Luminex, Biacore, ELISA) and protein chemical modification. Previous antibody characterization, high throughput screening experience and familiarity with Luminex equipment is strongly preferred. Experience with automation of these processes is highly desirable. Additional experience should include:
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to details are required.
  • Must be able to multitask and communicate effectively with a large team.
  • Ideal candidate should have experience working as an independent individual associate as well as a collaborative team member. Proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheets, and graphical analysis software required.
  • Experience using clustering software is beneficial.
  • Excellence adaptability and flexibility is essential.
Level will be commensurate with experience.
