Apex Life Sciences is searching for a qualified Research Associate, Analytical Development Data Integrity and Bioassay to work at an exciting pharma company in the greater LA area!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity in the laboratory notebooks, technical reports and associated regulatory filings from the analytical development group supporting
  • Execute, and participate in development and transfer, of analytical assays, order reagents, and assist in laboratory organization.  This position will deliver data and ensure the integrity of data supporting analytical and process development reports, qualification protocols and reports.
  • The candidate should have some experience in cell culture and demonstrate personal attributes including initiative, independent thinking and collaboration skills.
  • Review laboratory notebook entries, technical reports and protocols for data integrity and scientific clarity
  • Executes cell based analytical testing
  • Participates in analytical method development, qualification and transfer
  • May help draft analytical method reports (development, qualification and transfer)
  • Assists in cell line expansion per batch records
  • Maintain reagent inventory
  • Identifies issues and proposes solutions
  • Collaborates with analytical development and process sciences colleagues
  • Documents execution in batch records, laboratory notebooks or test methods


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • At least 6 months experience reviewing data and documents to ensure data integrity
  • Familiar with aseptic operations
  • Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail, and successfully execute experiments at the bench
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed execution records and perform data analysis
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in cell culture growth or cell based analytical assays
  • Strong communication skills (e.g., clear and concise) and a team player
  • Strong time and project management skills
  • Strong critical and logical thinking with ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations for resolution
  • Self-motivated, and flexible, able to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced & demanding environment
  • Takes ownership of the assigned project, consulting with management and peers
  • Able to understand and interpret data/information and its practical application


  • Experience ensuring data integrity, in a QA, QC or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with aseptic operations
  • 1-3 years’ experience with cell culture bioassays
  • Experience with primary cell culture
  • Experiences with cell proliferation, cytotoxicity and viral transformation assays
  • Knowledge or experience with quality control in biotech industry
