Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Procurement Category & Supplier Manager, Engineering Services & CSA, are to:

Category Management/Sourcing
  • Create and implement category strategies that add significant value for the business (e.g. savings, payment terms, increased compliance/sustainability, reduced risk);
  • Keep up to date on category market intelligence and supply market trends to gain competitive market advantage and to make better business decisions;
  • Identify market trends in supply base (e.g. new potential suppliers) to understand how the innovation potential can be leveraged successfully within sub-category;
  • Analyze and understand the total cost of ownership structures for area(s) of responsibility to develop better and/or innovative pricing models (e.g. performance- or indices-based pricing);
  • Establish effective, trustful, and personal relationships with key business stakeholders to set joint target agreements, align sourcing activities for investment projects in Region Americas and act as the contact point for all Engineering Services procurement related topics for his/her business stakeholder community;
  • Plan and execute sourcing events for strategic initiatives and tactical, ad-hoc sourcing projects to create a competitive advantage (e.g. spend reduction, supply security and / or time-to-market);
  • Prepare supplier negotiations, award suppliers and conduct post negotiation debriefs and handover to Source-2-Pay Operations / Countries;
  • Translate results of sourcing strategies, initiatives and projects and jointly agrees them with Source-2-Pay Operations;

Supplier Management
  • Apply state-of-the-art supplier management to whole supply base within responsibility and create relationships with assigned strategic partners, key suppliers and selected base suppliers if required;
  • Steer and align supplier stakeholder landscape with internal business stakeholders and external key supplier contacts to build uniform understanding;
  • Develop an especially consistent understanding of supplier's role and performance with internal stakeholders (one consistent message to the supplier);
  • Act responsible for developing a supplier portfolio that is in-line with existing category strategies and for achievement of strategic objectives (e.g. taps into the supplier's innovation potential and resources by setting up joint innovation initiatives, analyzing supplier cost structures and drivers and maintaining continuous improvement and process optimization with the suppliers).

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or equivalent degree in Science, Engineering or Business Management;
  • At least five years of professional experience in procurement with a technical focus (i.e. in Capex investment projects and associated project management processes);
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills combined with strong collaboration, influencing and communication competencies;
  • Solid background and expertise in Procurement and procurement processes and methodologies (e.g. category management and supplier management);
  • Solid category expertise and experience in relevant markets (Engineering Services and CSA category areas);
  • Solid expertise and experience in contracting in Engineering Services category areas for different common project execution models;
  • Change management and project management;
  • Financial acumen;
  • Strategic mindset;
  • Analytical decision making;
  • Result orientation;
  • Passion for functional excellence;
  • High proficiency level in English.
