Position Summary

Summary
Using scientific expertise and project management skills in drug discovery, the Project Associate, R&D Planning, Strategy and Operations, plans and executes the operational aspects of multiple discovery programs in order to facilitate their advancement through the pipeline.

Responsibilities
Drug and/or Technology Discovery & Development:
Using knowledge in scientific method and drug discovery, steers and enables cross-functional teams to achieve key program objectives. In collaboration with other senior group members, formulates criteria for advancing the program deliverables.

Team Management:
Ensures effective, accurate, appropriate and timely communication across functional areas within the project / program. Serves as a primary point of contact for management within and outside the team regarding progress and alignment with project/program goals.

Problem Solving:
Proactively identifies issues and provides general guidance to resolve project/program and team challenges. Develops solutions to meet productivity and quality goals and objectives.

Planning, Tracking & Project Reporting:
Develops, maintains and updates integrated project plans relevant to team objectives and ensures alignment across functions and with management. Maintains knowledge of key data and milestones for assigned projects and serves as the primary contact for information and updates. Provides project summaries and general guidelines to support presentations to senior management and collaborators as needed.

Process and Data Management:
Manages and updates tools that allow for program and project tracking and sharing of data/metrics (e.g. SharePoint).

Requirements
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Effective working with and engaging junior through senior-level colleagues, both within and outside the company. Comfortable learning on the fly. Able to handle ambiguity and to work independently to solve problems. Capable in navigating challenges when encountered. Resolves problems and negotiates conflicts with tact, diplomacy and composure.

Experience:
MS / PhD with a minimum of 2 years of relevant progressive project / program management experience in drug discovery (antibody drug discovery preferred). Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MS plus MBA) preferred. Molecular Biology experience a plus.
