Position Summary

Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

These positions are in Research & Development Planning, Strategy & Operations in Tarrytown, NY. There are 5 openings for Summer 2018. Each opening is described below.

Position 1: The R&D Technology Platforms and Operations (TPO) group plans, aligns, manages and communicates all R&D Technologies, Innovations & Platforms across Regeneron. TPO drives strategies and decisions by providing updates to Senior Management, and helps to operationalize research plans for discovery and development. The student will be responsible for:
• Supporting the coordination of cross-functional teams and activities within the R&D Technologies and collaboration space
• Organizing and maintaining the knowledgebase and documentation utilized by the R&D TPO team
• Identifying gaps to existing processes and developing solutions to streamline R&D project management activities
Opportunities include:
• Shadowing TPO team members in meetings with external partners.
• Learning about the cutting edge technologies homegrown at Regeneron and a big picture understanding of successful drug development.

Position 2: The student will:
• Evaluate, develop and maintain systems, reports ad trackers to better manage antibody project prioritization and workflows across multiple functional groups
• Facilitate data management (databases and SharePoint environment) to ensure timely and consistent information update, sharing and reporting for targets in the antibody pipeline
• Experience with relevant software: MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to experience working within shared work environments. Experience with Visio and Filemaker pro a plus.

Position 3: R&D Technologies & Platform Operations (TPO) aligns and integrates technologies, innovations, and platforms across R&D. One of the growing key technologies in the company are antibody drug conjugates. The student will support the design and implementation of specific trackers and master slide libraries to support the management of the novel antibody drug conjugate projects. This will require the student to interact with key stakeholders to determine characteristics to be tracked and receive feedback throughout design and implementation, while learning about the antibody drug conjugation process.

Position 4: Research Planning and Operations aligns with scientists across all functional areas in R&D to coordinate the operational advancement of projects across R&D.
The student will be responsible for the following:
• Help maintain tracking systems, reports and tools to better manage therapeutic candidate project prioritization and workflows across multiple functional groups within R&D
• Facilitate data management (databases and SharePoint environment) to ensure timely and consistent information update, sharing and reporting for targets in the therapeutic candidate pipeline.
• Experience with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to experience working within shared work environments. Experience with Visio and Filemaker Pro is a plus.

Position 5: R&D Systems, Tools & Operations (STO) aligns and coordinates the advancement of projects across R&D leading to nomination of therapeutic candidates. The student will support the implementation of a system designed to manage operational tracking and portfolio management of the discovery pipeline. The activities for the summer intern project will include:
• Engage with colleagues to create relational maps between target and project entities that provide the central organizational structure of the system
• Ensure alignment of the nomenclature used in multiple systems to established business rules
• Develop project overviews for newly-identified projects

• Must be an undergraduate, graduate, PPM, PharmD, or PhD student
• Must be pursuing a degree in Science or Project/Program Management
• Must have a background in biology or related science. Knowledge of biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred. Must have a basic knowledge of project management techniques and concepts as they apply to the drug development / pharmaceutical industry.
• Must be action oriented and organized. Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members with tact and diplomacy. Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities with excellent time management skills.

General Intern Program Information:
• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or PharmD
• Summer Program is full-time (~40 hrs/wk) for at least 10 weeks and is paid
• Prefer demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports or the community
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• You will work with a specific manager on a project(s)
• Enjoy weekly 1 hour Intern Program events: learn about other areas of the company from VPs and other employees, soft skills workshops, networking, volunteering, and more!
• Present to your team on your summer project
