Position Summary

Summary:

Works closely with Director, Precision Medicine and other key clinical personnel to ensure that Precision Medicine goals are executed with each of Regeneron's Immuno-Oncology clinical trials, with focus on biomarkers, pharmacogenetics, clinical device technologies, human genetics studies and imaging, as needed. Leads immune-oncology biomarker discovery efforts, including the internal platform development, academic and commercial collaborative programs. Technologies will be applied strategically to goals of expediting proof-of-concept for new drug candidates and combinations, assessment of PK/PD relationships, optimization of label claims, and enabling precision medicine principles to be applied, as appropriate, in full development. Applies next-generation sequencing technologies to study human tumor and germ-line DNA samples. Collaborates closely with development team leadership, preclinical research and technology center colleagues, clinical operations, partners from allied companies, and senior management. Must be able to provide leadership in a complex, collaborative matrix environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead strategy development (in collaboration with research and clinical colleagues) around the application of genomic (RNA and DNA sequencing) molecular profiling technologies, molecular histology, functional immune monitoring and single cell technologies in the area of Immuno-Oncology correlative science and biomarker discovery.
• Lead translational medicine strategy development across the immune-oncology clinical development portfolio, including the biomarker driven clinical study design, implementation of novel technologies and biomarker endpoints.
• Provide cross-functional team leadership of internal clinical biomarker discovery platform development (laboratory assays, computational biology methods), in collaboration with Immuno-Oncology therapeutic area research, molecular profiling and genomic center teams.
• Represent Precision Medicine and Early Clinical Development on strategic project teams across the Immuno-Oncology development portfolio.
• Develops strategy and leads academic and commercial partnerships in immuno-oncology translational science discovery.
• Presents the clinical translational project plans and clinical trial protocols to senior management to outline, justify and explain the execution of the strategy.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors to consider for future programs and to interpret data across programs.
Requirements:

• Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree with post-doctoral experience
• Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, experience in cross- functional team presentation of complex scientific data essential.
• Research and/or translational development experience in immunology and immune-oncology therapeutic areas highly preferred.
• Experience in translational biomarker data analysis and interpretation in collaboration with computational biology scientists desired.
