Position Summary

Supports Process Sciences Department through small scale laboratory experiments, as well as analysis, troubleshooting, and validation of manufacturing bioprocesses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Leads technical investigations and creates associated reports.
•Reviews and writes responses for technical sections of Regulatory documents.
•Conducts experiment at small scale via production procedures to improve the efficiency and yield of candidate or existing bioprocesses.
•Using statistical tools such as JMP and MVA to analyze process performance and product quality.
•Provide scientific insights to assist understanding of upstream cell culture process.
•Develops and writes protocols for qualification studies at small-scale process .
•Tabulates results and writes summary reports of process/raw material evaluation.
•Presents findings at cross-functional meetings and possibly at external meetings.
•Provides technical and scientific inputs to scientists and associates to address scientific concerns related to cell culture processes.
•Serves as subject matter expert (SME) to support regulatory inspections

Experience and Required Skills: Education and Experience:
•Requires PhD in Chemical, Biochemical Engineering or a related field with 5-7 years' cell culture experience in biopharmaceutical industry for Sr Manager; 8-10 years' experience for associate director. Managerial experience is required. Previous experience with cGMP, CHO cell culture and knowledge of cellular metabolism are highly desirable.
