The R&D Finance team manages a budget of ~$3 Bn which includes ~$1Bn for the AbbVie Global Clinical Studies. The Finance Supervisor is responsible for completing key monthly R&D Flash/Actual Reporting & Analysis that impact all the functions within R&D. This includes review of data sources such as SAP, HFM and TM1 for accuracy and completeness, headcount reporting, HQ balance sheet account preparation, ownership of R&D account reconciliation process, including preparing the quarterly balance sheet analysis for Sr. Financial Management review, support of audit and tax deliverables as requested, and managing a Summer Intern. Key Responsibilities include:
  • Assist Sr Finance Manager and Assistant Controller in the coordination of all Actual Reporting Activities. This position will be given the opportunity to lead key components of the Actuals process including various adhoc projects related to new Accounting system implementation, the R&D Fixed Asset process, and TM1 system optimization.
  • Ensure the R&D Monthly Actual results are accurate at the Functional Level (Pharm Dev, Discovery, Dev Functions, etc) and agree with SAP and HFM. Proactively contact Corporate/AFS for clarification on OUS transactions as needed.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external auditors to provide requested information and supporting documentation.
  • Complete various SAP activities such as managing master data requests for R&D such as Cost Center adds/changes and investigating/resolving Internal Order and WBS settlement issues.
  • Identify and drive efficiencies within the Financial Reporting area, while building relationships with Finance peers via collaboration and team work.
  • Complete the monthly R&D Headcount Report and streamline the completion process.
  • Supervise the R&D Reporting Summer Intern.
  • Participate in the Monthly R&D Flash meeting with the VP, R&D Controller
Qualifications Basic:
  • B.A./B.S., in Accounting
  • 5+ years of financial experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • CPA
  • SAP, HFM, and TM1 experience
