The Discovery Chemistry and Technology group has an exciting opportunity for an associate scientist position to join the High Throughput Chemistry (HTC) team. This scientist will conceive and execute organic synthetic methods and chemistry technologies for medicinal chemistry research. The candidate will demonstrate strong understanding of core discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

    Synthesize libraries in a high throughout manner to advance Structure Activity Relationships Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting Demonstrate mastery of broad range of experimental techniques and methods of data analysis. Demonstrate the ability to resolve key chemistry issues by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise Proactively seek out new information in the literature and incorporate this into individual project(s) as well as the overall program Effective writer and communicator of research Demonstrate a high degree of responsibility in maintaining scientific standards, and safe laboratory practices Understand the broad objective of the projects and contribute to the generation of project-related documents and presentations Learn, understand and master new chemistry technologies Collaborate with functional and technical experts to facilitate scientific achievement

Level commensurate with experience.


Qualifications

 

Basic:

BS or MS in Organic Chemistry or related field Demonstrate the ability to resolve project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise Demonstrate strong synthesis skills and understanding of organic chemistry

Preferred:

MS in Organic Chemistry or BS with 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience Hands-on experience in the areas of High Throughput Chemistry synthesis and/or High Throughput Experimentation.
