Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Contract Support Specialist, are to:

  • Handle the generation, preparation, and revision of all contracts across Bayer Healthcare's Pharmaceutical divisions;
  • Analyze proposed contract terms and conditions and price concession (includes discounts, rebates, price protection, administrative fees, and trade service fees) for all Brands and customer channels (e.g., managed care access, wholesaler/distributor fee for service, physician networks, GPOs, specialty pharmacies, and other customers) to determine if such terms align with the customer's requirements and comply with regulatory guidelines; and Bayer's contracting and EPC pricing guidelines;
  • Evaluate all contract proposals to ensure price concessions can be calculated and processed within contracted timelines and according to Bayer policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Obtain and document appropriate cross-functional Stakeholder approval for all proposed contract nonstandard terms and conditions;
  • Collaborate across all cross-functions (e.g., Brand teams, Legal, Contract Strategy, Accounting/Finance/Controlling, Data, Insurance, Account Management, Pharmacovigilance, and Contract Fulfilment - rebates, membership, and chargebacks) to ensure contracts are drafted/generated compliantly and align with both the customer requirements and Bayer Healthcare's business objectives;
  • Promote contract compliance and transparency by utilizing and maintaining Bayer Healthcare's contracting system, contract compliance procedures, and contracting database for all contract generation and approvals;
  • Apply formal, best practice methodologies to support the overall contracting process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree;
  • Eight (8+) years of work experience in contracting, legal, strategic planning, health economics, or finance;
  • Three (3+) years of contracting (includes drafting) experience within the pharma, biotech, medical device, or related fields;
  • Solid baseline knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare environment and customer channels;
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization;
  • Proven ability to consistently meet and/or exceed targets and deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment;
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple business initiatives and cross-functional relationships within a fast-paced and complex matrix team environment;
  • Detailed oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills.
