Your tasks and responsibilities

The Sr. Analyst, Sales Planning & Effectiveness is a mission critical forecasting and reporting role essential to sales force revenue delivery and productivity. The role regularly interfaces with SLT members and functional directors across the org, tracks and manages critical financial KPIs and implements best practices and capability improvements for the entire organization. The role is responsible for the analysis, reporting, and org communication around trade spend of over $250 million, in an effort to drive financial diligence, increase sales productivity and ultimately positively manage net revenue. Additionally, this role will support the entire Sales Planning and Effectiveness team, from both an executional, budget and compliance tracking perspective as well as template design and database management to ensure a seamless operational process.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Analyst Sales Planning & Effectiveness, are to:

  • Track and analyze trade budgets for 4-5 different trade structures by GM business area, both at a national level as well as customer-by-brand;
  • Provide periodic updates to the organization, using consumption and other performance-based measures to forecast funding in variable pay-for-performance (TVC) trade structures;
  • Key mission critical financial activities which rely entirely on the role include: collecting and analyzing data and forecasts to feed organization OPC/budgeting activities; providing accurate point-of-sale accrual figures to accounting; providing detailed quarterly spending forecasts to feed org financial steering (FC1,FC2,FC3);
  • Collect and integrate a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data related to drive Trade Promo and Pricing optimization - in partnership with Sales Strategy, Net Revenue Management, and Advanced Analytics - to ensure that the organization is producing a profitable ROI;
  • Drive change management through the org through project management and governance activities for various sales projects as part of the Sales Effectiveness Integration process. For example, assists in implementing the 18 month planning process by developing templates and planning meetings to drive sales force success from both a financial and operational perspective;
  • Analyze and capture detailed drivers behind trade spending/ROI monthly in order to identify to identify trends, correlations or cause and effect relationship, leveraging both established sources and ad-hoc data collection and analysis;
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement;
  • Work closely with sales management to review sales process quality and prioritizes opportunities for improvement, and assists sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. For example, through effective process design, reporting and analysis, the role is responsible for the incremental funding process that opportunistically shifts funds from marketing lines into sales funding, including fair & equitable compliance reporting to Legal;
  • Support the sales organization, global customer excellence and net revenue management teams through reporting automation and bespoke application development including multiple sales offices and off-site satellite locations. Some examples are: automation of the syndicated ROI tool, including assisting the integration of the ROI logic into a global app rollout through global customer excellence;
  • Assist with tracking and compliance of all sales team legal contracts, accounting needs, and administration including, but not limited to, company fleet, price lists, trade spending, travel and expenses.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree of Business Administration or equivalent studies in economics/management helpful with a minimum of two years of relevant business experience ideally within consumer package goods industry or equivalent combination of education/experience;
  • Incumbent should have expert skills around sales data analysis and reporting; capable of producing, analyzing and interpreting various reports and templates using syndicated and internal data sources;
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills that allow for clear and concise presentations;
  • Organizational agility and adaptability to a diverse working environment with the ability to work successfully with teams across the organization while being self-motivated;
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; results- oriented and must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Strong computer literacy skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced expertise MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with syndicated sales reporting databases such as Nielsen and IRI.
