Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Associate Director Technical Project Lead-Allergy, are to:

  • Lead tactical execution of 5 - 10 approved new product development (NPD) projects with average NPV of 15MM Euro;
  • Bring an aligned technical strategy and integrated project plan to the category technical lead (CTL) (the incumbent leads development of detailed milestones and timelines that deliver high quality NPD projects that are aligned with consumer expectations and insights);
  • Support the CTL in developing the technical risk assessment for NPD projects, and creation of mitigation plans;
  • Provide leadership and oversight of tactical execution (time, cost, quality), escalating any issues or deviations to the CTL;
  • Coordinate corrective actions in the event of problems, in collaboration with the technical project team and the CTL;
  • Motivate and rally the technical development team behind the project, explaining/communicating project objectives and orientations;
  • Estimate and manage development site budget for assigned NPD projects. This includes both internal FTE as well as external spend requirements in collaboration with the technical team and in accordance with the CTL;
  • Work in matrix environment to coordinate development site resources on time delivery (formulation, analytics, scale-up, packaging and manufacturing site);
  • Provide technology solutions that address Category and Business growth areas;
  • Develop, maintain and report NPD Development center metrics;
    • Project indicators and monthly reporting;
    • Resource estimation, allocation and capacity tracking;
    • External project spend;
    • Technical project risk (PTS).
  • Support the category technical lead (CTL) in preparing technical portfolio review meetings with Function Heads and Product Development Head;
  • Develop and maintain a well-defined, optimized and well implemented technical development process which is aligned with the global NPD process;
  • Maintain and operate the Technical Registration Document filing system at the Global Product Development site. This includes managing workflow for Technical Registration Documents, representing development site on system upgrades, and providing training/guidance to local users.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or international equivalent) with a minimum of 12 years of proven experience, a Master's Degree (or international equivalent) with a minimum of eight years of proven experience, or a Ph.D. (or international equivalent) with a minimum of six years of proven experience;
  • Experience working on over-the-counter (OTC) drug product development with significant experience in specific formulation development;
  • Track record of successfully leading projects and teams;
  • Significant new product development (NPD) product development experience;
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous development experience on specific Indication products.
