Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Manager, Media Investment Strategy and Management, are to:

  • Brand Planning and Stewardship (assigned brands):
    • Work with Agency teams and Brand on the creation of consumer journeys, content strategy and communication objectives;
    • Lead the development of well-defined Media Objectives/Strategies, Role of Channel, communication goals;
    • Manage media agency teams to ensure plans are strategic, deliver against goals and are grounded in best practices and have well-defined KPIs;
    • Maintain constant contact with agencies and brand team on changes in brand strategy, budgets or media marketplace conditions since media planning is an on-going process;
    • Collaborate with the Digital Strategy and Platforms team on optimizations that are in line with the brand strategies and KPIs;
    • Manage agency output/deliverables;
  • Media Management (Portfolio):
    • Work with the Media Sr. Manager on the portfolio investment strategy;
      • By brand based on performance/need;
      • By channel - management of TV Upfront, Programmatic vs. Direct, etc.;
      • By Partner - Google, Facebook, etc.;
    • Ensure on-going management of spending flexibility/savings;
    • Ensure management of invoices, POs, and Media Authorizations;
    • Create standards and best practices for quality control;
  • Training:
    • Develop and implement media education program for brand management and related job functions;
  • Industry:
    • Maintain high level of industry knowledge by reading trade journals, active participation in professional meetings and seminars;
    • Foster and maintain solid professional relationships with agency personnel, media suppliers, and media research suppliers. Represent BCH to larger marketing/media community through professional organizations (ANA, ARF).

Required Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field of study;
  • At least eight years of media and communication planning experience;
  • Major packaged goods or pharmaceutical account experience is preferred;
  • Thorough knowledge of all areas of media, national and local, offline/online, including programmatic and social;
  • Experience with buying/negotiating media;
  • Extensive client experience or client contact at the media and brand group level;
  • Solid analytical background, with knowledge of all media mathematical models and formulas;
  • Knowledge of all state-of-the art reference and research tools;
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills;
  • Good "people" skills including diplomacy, credibility, and ability to negotiate;
  • Extensive interaction with internal and external customers at a variety of management levels.
