Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Warehouse Supervisor-1st Shift, are to:

  • Assist in maintaining a continuous warehouse safety improvement program to provide employee training and department metrics;
  • Perform area safety investigations and CAPA's as required;
  • Ensure areas of responsibilities such as transportation, packaging, storage, shipping, disposal of materials are compliant with cGMP guidelines, DOT and HAZMAT regulations;
  • Ensure self and employees stay compliant with all training;
  • Manage the following shift processes: Inventory discrepancies, Loading of Finish Goods to Export and domestic Distribution Centers, Unload and receive materials from Vendors via trucks, Monitor warehouse temperatures via CMS system, Cycle counting of warehouse materials, Process warehouse or freight damage, Inventory control via SAP, Monitor Manufacturing Transfer Order activity during shift, etc.;
  • Perform area quality investigations and CAPA's as required. Having the ability to conduct investigations to identify root cause analysis;
  • Ensure timely supply of materials to production areas based on the manufacturing production plans;
  • Ensure that all manufacturing batch records are reconciled and reviewed within 24 hours of completion;
  • Manage shift process requirements via shift headcount;
  • Use good judgment in dealing with employee relation issues so as to ensure a positive employee climate within the department;
  • Manage the Tier process for the Warehouse and Inventory Production Specialists. Ensure that critical information is passed from shift to shift to enhance department communication;
  • Assist in maintaining a continuous warehouse cost reduction/avoidance program;
  • Manage shift weekend work as needed (On call 24/7).

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with a minimum of two years' supervisory experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years' distribution/manufacturing supervisory experience or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five years' supervisory/leadership experience in distribution or manufacturing environment and must commit to continue/start college degree program;
  • At least two years of SAP experience within a Warehouse Management/Materials Management Module;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and the ability to apply principles and techniques of distribution practices. Specifically those related to warehousing, transportation, inventory control, regulations and management of day-to-day operations;
  • Capable of using inventory system with advanced Microsoft Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables;
  • Must have proficient computer skills (Typing, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to read/interpret/follow instructions about workplace documentation, such as SOP's, Work Instructions, etc. Strong technical and non-technical ability to relate to other department management teams as needed;
  • Ability to assist with Deviation investigations including root cause analysis;
  • Knowledge of process improvement process - Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide development opportunities to subordinates and provide feedback in a timely fashion is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Physically able to operate a forklift truck;
  • Forklift training/certification and motorized material handling experience.
