Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Research and Development System Analyst II are to:

  • Collaborate with the R&D process owner to identify and document user requirements for new and/or changed R&D processes, systems and services; on behalf of governance provide impact analyses for requested changes to systems and services;
  • Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the R&D processes and functions being supported;
  • Ensure consistency and compatibility across R&D processes, projects and systems as appropriate;
  • Actively participate in projects and potentially lead smaller projects based on an agreed scope, on-time delivery based on Bayer project standards;
  • Provide in-depth subject matter expertise in key R&D applications to support R&D in ensuring best practice use of the applications;
  • Provide and execute, according to best practice, documented guidance for (breeding) specific software the following: Data management / data migration, Configuration management, Change management, Risk management;
  • Coordinate and execute the creation of a functional design, development of systems modifications and structured testing to ensure compliance with user requirements, governance, standards and procedures;
  • Understand and work according to Nagoya protocol, Quality standards, Stewardship, ITIL library and other applicable standards to full compliance;
  • Develop, in accordance with R&D and APPS guidelines' the Service Level Agreements based on the Service Catalog;
  • Develop and maintain' for existing applications, queries and reports based on user requirements;
  • Develop training and training documentation with regard to the specific applications;
  • Instruct, train, inform and monitor users/System Specialists new and experienced, regarding the use of the specific applications;
  • Act as back up, contact person / single point of contact for operational related topics towards vendor and other internal (IT) departments;
  • Contribute to the global knowledge and expertise of the APPS management;
  • Participate in global coordination meetings;
  • Be a sparring partner for APPS management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant business experience, OR a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant business experience;
  • Analytical thinking, good interpersonal skills, convincing, problem solving ability, accurate, and innovative.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in breeding applications and practical experience in plant breeding;
  • Experience in the application development life cycle and/or BABOK certification;
  • Experience in either participating in key project activities or managing of application implementation related projects.
