Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Assistant Director HEOR Research, are to:

  • Be a full member of the US brand team by representing the HEOR function on the team. Responsible for making recommendations and contributions regarding HEOR-related activities and studies. For each assigned product they are the responsible contact in HEOR to all in-house and external partners;
  • Under supervision, develop health economic and health-related quality-of-life expertise in the assigned therapeutic areas;
  • Learn experience as a project leader, coordinating activities and functions of people from various disciplines across the project team;
  • Establish, with supervision, project priorities to meet all deadlines for the project, and identifies and helps his/her supervisor resolve conflicts with other projects;
  • Consult and negotiate with supervision, with Marketing Product Managers and Medical Directors in the development of plans for each drug;
  • At the discretion of supervisor for each assigned project, may serve as principal contact to marketing, managed care, scientific affairs, sales, and medical with respect to all issues of cost-effectiveness and outcomes trial design, execution, analysis, reporting, and interpretation;
  • Meet regularly with Medical and Marketing departments during study development and execution to uncover possible inconsistencies and misalignments of the protocol with the marketing and sales strategies, and with supervision resolves the problems in a way that meets the marketing and sales objectives and protects the scientific integrity of the studies;
  • Under supervision works with designated Epidemiologist and the Scientific Systems Analyst in planning the analysis and model building sections of the protocol.

Required Qualifications:

  • The qualifications for this position are an educational background of an MS.c./MPH, Pharm.D., Ph.D. or other equivalent degree in the healthcare field and more specifically in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, economics or a related field;
  • A minimum of two years of experience in conducting economic/outcomes studies;
  • The incumbent should have a demonstrated ability to design, implement, and analyze studies within the healthcare field;
  • Must have good written and oral presentation skills. Must be a self-starter with the ability to maintain high productivity with supervision;
  • The incumbent must be creative and able to handle a variety of projects simultaneously;
  • The incumbent reports to the Deputy Director or Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research and with supervision, is responsible for all activities related to the design, analysis, and reporting of health economic and outcomes studies for one or more drugs;
  • The incumbent interacts with Marketing, Managed Care, Epidemiology, and Medical;
  • This position requires a minimum 10-20% travel.;


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional preferred education/experience: Completion of post-doctoral fellowship in HEOR.
