Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Product Engineering Co-Op, are to:

  • Work under guidance of the Engineering or Process Technology staff/mentors, with production support groups (engineering, production, maintenance, and quality assurance/control) to complete equipment, facility and technology transfer projects related to the support of manufacturing operations at the facility;
  • The specific projects will vary depending on the activities in the plant;
  • Apply his/her technical training in an industrial environment with hands-on activities supervised by the technical staff and a chance to view a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines (i.e. chemical, electrical, and mechanical);
  • Become knowledgeable in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Continuous Improvement/Lean Six Sigma methodology, and management of time and varying project loads.

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program; with a concentration in Chemical Engineering with completion of the Freshman year;
  • Available to work 40 hours per week from May 2018-August 2018 consecutively;
  • Proficient PC skills; experience with using Microsoft Office, Excel, Access and PowerPoint;
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to interact with and establish good working relationships with diverse individuals; and the willingness to work in a team/cross functional environment;
  • High level of motivation, energy, passion for excellence, self-confidence, self-starter and the ability to work independently.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship/work experience in a product-packaging environment
