Summary

The Director, Early Development Team Leader, will be responsible for cross-functional scientific and project leadership for early development projects in the Aimmune portfolio, working closely with the project management function. She/he will provide direction and leadership to the project team in the expansion of Aimmune’s CODIT platform, including mission, oversight of scientific and operational deliverables and milestones, resourcing, budget, and strategic planning. The Director, Early Development Team Leader, will also drive alignment of program plans across the organization and serve as a program spokesperson.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Drives cross-functional team(s) through product development activities including IND filing and initial clinical development
  • Broad responsibility for ensuring scientific excellence and rigor, and appropriate resourcing for early programs
  • Ensures cross-functional alignment and organizational support for the execution of assigned programs; including decision making and issue resolution
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking assigned project(s) against approved timelines; ensures agreed upon adherence to team objectives and deliverables
  • Drives teams through required and complex cross-functional prioritization and decision making, and through internal corporate processes and milestones
  • Manages priorities of program(s) team activities and to enhance program value
  • Ensures effective, proactive, and open communications, to achieve transparency and clarity of program goals, progress and issues, with team members, executive management, key stakeholders and broader organization
  • Leads a collaborative and high-performing team
  • Collaborates with academics and contractors to define and implement strategies for CODIT portfolio expansion

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • PhD in Biology or Chemistry and 8+ years with industry related scientific leadership, or BS/MS and minimum 10 years of applicable experience
  • Strong working knowledge of protein chemistry and analytical processes

Preferred Experience, Special Skills, Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of protein chemistry and analytical processes
  • Understanding of the biology of antigen-antibody interactions is a plus
  • Knowledge of the drug discovery process with an understanding of downstream manufacturing and development activities and requirements
  • Excellent cross-functional team and relationship building skills paired with excellent scientific experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills, including presentation effectiveness to internal and external audiences
  • Ongoing interests in the understanding of key commercial, clinical, regulatory and legal factors which impact development of new drugs
  • Ability to collaborate and influence a cross-functional team environment, including success in stakeholder management
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to operate independently, demonstrates sound judgement in seeking input, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Interested in working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, start-up environment
  • Desire for new professional challenges and growth
