Duties: Utilize experience with operational excellence (OpEx), lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, project management, and change management to serve as biologics development (BD) network lead of OpEx. Conduct training, coaching, and OpEx support to 3 geographical BD locations. Coordinate with partnering organizations' OpEx initiative. Manage and report project update and closure reports to BD senior and extended leadership teams. Lead the annual objectives setting and strategic planning process. Identify opportunities for changing, improving and growing the business, align them with strategic imperatives and track them to ensure business benefits delivery. Drive change management and make changes stick through change management tools such as, management of the ideas generation process, leading and coaching of workshops and day to day activities, and communication, information management and promotion of CI benefits via OpEx Boards, governance meetings, and other communication tools. Establish OpEx network capability through yellow belt, green belt, black belt and lean practitioner training coordination and delivery, coaching of green belts, black belts and lean practitioners, key performance indicators (KPI) tracking and update to management on OpEx planning & delivery, and keeping abreast of best practice and improvement opportunities in OpEx by networking within BMS and also among external companies and industry bodies. Manage large scale continuous improvement projects using lean and six sigma tools and deliver benefits to business while meeting specified timelines. Plan and execute lean transformation events targeting improvement of business performance on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. 20% domestic travel is required.
Requirements: Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Bio/Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience showing demonstrable ability in the skills set described above. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Bio/Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience showing demonstrable ability in the skills set described above.
