The Sr. Manager in Commercial Learning & Development will lead all projects and initiatives designed to provide and improve learning and development for current and future field sales management by ensuring the development and implementation of relevant training programs & product training. This role will lead product training initiatives including POA workshops, new hire training classes and other product specific projects related to enhancing the learning of products for sales. Partner with relevant internal departments, including senior sales leadership, field sales, national accounts, marketing, sales operations, human resources, and legal as well as our internal med/reg/legal review process.

• Analyze the business environment to develop customized training needs for commercial management as well as for assigned products.
• Select, modify, or create a design and development model appropriate for a given project
• Apply instructional design principles to Learning and Development projects.
• Utilize technology to enhance training outcomes in concert with the Manager of Technology & E Learning
• Evaluate training and performance interventions to support management.
• Plan and promote organizational change
• Monitor and maintain alignment with Commercial group's strategic training plan while balancing short-term and long-term business goals
• Manage the budget initiatives
• Oversee vendor selection
• Contribute to SOP development for CL&D in concert with the Senior Director
• Assist with the Leadership Development Process to yield future first line managers and home office assignments


• Requires BS/BA degree with a concentration in Science, Education, Business or Marketing
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant Pharmaceutical Sales Management experience in the pharmaceutical field required
• Minimum of 4 years in a corporate training position preferred including leading leadership development
• MS or MBA degree is desirable
