Reports to: Director, Commercial Manufacturing   KindredBio is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to saving and improving the lives of companion animals.  Director/Senior Manager of Bioproduction is responsible for overseeing KindredBio small scale biologics manufacturing. The primary responsibility will be overseeing expression, purification and analytics of the recombinant proteins. We are looking for a highly driven individual who will thrive in our results-oriented, fast-paced environment.   Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:   • Oversee expression, purification and analytics of the recombinant proteins
• Build a bioprocessing lab
• Have proven hands on experience with mammalian expression system, and recombinant proteins purification
• Oversee and manage a team of bioprocessing associates
• Cell line development experience is a plus
• Manage logistics to ensure sufficient materials are available to support planned nonclinical and clinical studies
• Helps develop and manage budgets for R&D and manufacturing projects
• Oversee suppliers, vendors, and other outside partners.
• Provide expertise and scientific direction in process development, formulation, and analytics
• Experience with FDA and USDA regulations is a plus
• Provide expertise and scientific direction regarding the evaluation and selection of new product technologies, in association with cross-functional evaluations and requirements from research, clinical, commercial, and regulatory teams   Qualifications/Skills required:   • MS or PhD in Biochemical engineering or Biology
• Minimum 10 years of experience in recombinant protein expression and purification
• Strong understanding and competency in planning processes and decision making
• Ability to resolve problems with work processes and people
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
