Summary & Scope of Position:

The Associate Director/Director, Information Technology will be responsible for the operational and strategic leadership of Aduro’s IT team and function. This includes the day to day management of our desktop support, network infrastructure and applications delivery teams, as well as strategic development of the function in alignment with company goals and growth. S/he will plan, organize, and execute on IT activity at our headquarters in Berkeley California as well at our site in Oss, Netherlands. In collaboration with senior leadership, s/he will develop an IT roadmap and establish policies and procedures that support long-term strategy as well as effective global operations.  The Associate Director/Director will ensure customer requirements are met while simultaneously implementing and managing IT projects, including support and maintenance of existing applications and the development of new technical solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on leadership for the Aduro IT team, including management and mentorship of staff as well as internal and external contractors
  • Direct and prioritize the team’s work load and ensure that their efforts are effective in supporting Aduro’s global operations
  • Analyze business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommend technical solutions
  • Develop clear and effective business requirements for all future IT solutions
  • Ensure consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions
  • Direct IT operations to ensure production tasks meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Manage IT budgets and report on IT expenditures
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
  • Establish and communicate an IT vision and roadmap with Aduro’s senior leadership
  • Create and implement IT policies and procedures to support this vision
  • Ensure SOX and GxP controls are implemented and effective 
  • Participate in all hardware and software evaluations and maintain IT vendor contracts
  • Direct training programs on IT systems for the entire company
  • Make recommendations for the composition and structure of the team to keep pace with Aduro’s evolution


  • Minimum of 10 years IT experience with demonstrated success managing a team in the biotech industry
  • Experience managing and implementing systems compliant under 21 CFR part 11 and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Experience with validated systems including document management, CTMS, LIMS etc.
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MS/MA or MBA is a plus
